The Not Hear monkey is a grey garden figure in clay fibre, 22 × 19 cm at the base and 35.5 cm tall, with its hands over its ears. It belongs to the three wise monkeys, an old Japanese image of hearing, seeing and speaking no evil. Each figure is sold separately, so you can buy one or build the full row with Not See and Not Talk. The trio reads well along a garden wall, on the top step of a staircase or on a long planter ledge, and a single monkey makes a witty accent by a reading chair or a gate. Clay fibre is made for outdoor use and gives the figure a stone-like grey surface. Stand it on a firm, level spot so a strong gust cannot knock it over.
