Large aluminium umbrellas from 3 to 5 m and the heavy bases they need, for cafes, hotel pools, beach bars and big villa terraces.

Professional beach umbrellas and commercial umbrellas for cafes work all day in sun and sea wind, so frame, canopy and base matter far more than on a home parasol. This collection covers aluminium umbrellas from 3 x 3 m to about 5 x 5 m and the heavy bases they need, for hotel pools, beach bars, restaurants and large villa terraces.

Centre pole or side pole

  • Centre-pole beach umbrellas are simpler and very stable: the Deneb is 495 x 495 cm on a black aluminium frame with a PVC canopy, and the Saturno is a 3 x 3 m model with a windbreaker vent.
  • Side-pole (cantilever) umbrellas keep the pole out of the seating: the Italian-made Acrux is 395 x 395 cm, and the Pitagora adds integrated LED lighting for evening service.

Frames and canopy fabrics

Aluminium does not rust in salt air and is lighter to rotate; anodised frames like the Aries Anod add extra corrosion protection. The Heavy Duty umbrella combines an 8.9 cm aluminium pole with steel ribs and 400 g Dickson fabric, resistant to UV, water, stains and mould. Lighter polyester canopies (250-350 g) cost less and dry faster, but fade sooner under constant sun. The Hamel uses a gas piston, so staff open it with little effort.

The base decides safety

A large umbrella is only as safe as its ballast. The Heavy Duty needs 200-300 kg. The custom concrete base weighs 230 kg with built-in wheels, while the Alina base takes paving plates.

Care in the Cyprus climate

Close umbrellas in strong wind and at night. Rinse the pole mechanism with fresh water near the sea. Never leave a wet canopy folded, and store canopies dry in winter.
