What hotels and beach clubs look for

Stackable one-piece resin sunbeds clear quickly for cleaning and storage; aluminium loungers are light to move around the deck. Nardi resin sunbeds

Aluminium and padded loungers

The Formentera (198 × 61 cm) and Torino (207 × 76 cm) have powder-coated aluminium frames with textilene. The Taylor Pecan has wheels, and the Piano sunbed is 225 × 92 cm in olefin fabric with two wheels, for a front row. The supplier lists several aluminium models for domestic use, so for daily turnover at a large pool the Nardi beds are the safer choice.

Pros, cons and care in the Cyprus climate

Resin does not rust, stacks and has replaceable fabric on several models, but can scuff if dragged daily, so use the wheels. Aluminium is rigid and rust-free by the sea, but frames heat up in direct sun. Textilene and olefin dry fast after a swim. Rinse off salt and sun cream weekly in season, and stack beds under cover in winter.
