Nardi Alfa vs Atlantico: Which Sunlounger?

The Alfa and the Atlantico are two Nardi sunloungers often compared for pools, hotels and beach clubs. Both are one-piece and stackable; the differences are in material, back height, weight, colours and price.

Key differences

  • Material: Alfa is mass-coloured, UV-resistant polypropylene resin; Atlantico has a light tubular frame in UV-resistant polypropylene.
  • Size: Alfa 170 × 71 × 85 cm; Atlantico 171 × 70 × 99 cm, a taller backrest.
  • Weight: Alfa 13.5 kg; Atlantico 16 kg.
  • Colours: Alfa in 5 colours; Atlantico in 7.
  • Armrest: an optional armrest is available for the Atlantico.
  • Seat height: Alfa 30 cm; Atlantico 35 cm.
  • Length with the back lowered: Alfa 194.5 cm; Atlantico 204 cm.

What they have in common

  • A backrest with 4 positions.
  • Wheels, so the lounger rolls instead of being dragged across tiles.
  • A breathable, interchangeable fabric. On the Atlantico it also gives slightly under body weight.
  • Stacking, for storage and for clearing a deck quickly.
  • A 3-year manufacturer guarantee.

Comfort

The Atlantico is the roomier lounger. It extends to 204 cm, so tall guests have more length, and its 99 cm back gives more support when sitting up to read. The 35 cm seat is also easier to get up from, which older guests notice. The Alfa is lower and more compact: at 194.5 cm long it fits narrower pool decks and villa terraces, and its resin armrests give a hand hold when sitting down.

Handling and weight

The Alfa weighs 13.5 kg and the Atlantico 16 kg. For one lounger at home the difference hardly matters. On a hotel deck where staff move dozens of loungers every morning and stack them at night, 2.5 kg per piece adds up, and the lighter Alfa is quicker to handle.

Sun, salt and care in Cyprus

Both are polypropylene with UV protection, so they do not rust or rot and suit pools close to the sea. Rinse off chlorine, salt and sunscreen regularly and wipe the fabric with mild soap. Because the fabric is interchangeable on both models, a worn sling is replaced on its own. Our cleaning and winter care guide and furniture for a home by the sea cover the routine.

Matching pieces

Nardi pairs the Atlantico with the Pop table, a small side table that also serves as a stool. The Alfa can be combined with a parasol; for shade over rows of loungers, see professional umbrellas.

Colours and re-orders

The Alfa comes in 5 colours and the Atlantico in 7. On a hotel or beach club deck, pick a colour you can re-order in later seasons, so replacement loungers match the rest of the row. Light shades stay cooler to the touch in July sun than dark ones but show sunscreen marks sooner; mid tones hide daily wear better.

A quick checklist

1. Measure the deck depth: allow the full extended length plus a walkway behind the feet. 2. Decide who uses the loungers: families and older guests benefit from the higher Atlantico seat. 3. Count how often loungers are moved: daily resetting favours the lighter Alfa. 4. Plan shade and side tables together with the loungers. 5. Order spare fabrics with the first delivery.

Which one?

Choose the Alfa for a lighter lounger at a lower price. Choose the Atlantico for the taller back, the wider colour choice or the optional armrest. For larger quantities, request a quote.
