Stackable Outdoor Chairs
17Outdoor chairs that stack, so a cafe terrace or a pool deck can be cleared quickly at closing time or for winter. Weight, size and colours are on each product.
Stackable outdoor chairs save a cafe or restaurant terrace hours every week: at closing, rows go into stacks in minutes, and in winter a whole terrace fits in a storeroom. Every chair in this collection is a Nardi model in UV-treated fiberglass resin from the Italian maker, with non-slip feet and a 3-year guarantee.
Fiberglass resin for a working terrace
- Pros: it does not rust, flake or need painting, it shrugs off salt air on a seafront promenade, and it rinses clean with a hose.
- Cons: at 3.5-6 kg a chair is easy to move, which also means a gust can tip an empty one on an open roof. Pale shades show coffee and sunscreen sooner than anthracite.
Armchair or bistrot
Nardi makes most designs in two versions. The armchairs, such as the Bora, Riva and Costa, are 57 x 58.5 x 86 cm. The armless bistrot versions, like the Riva Bistrot at 54 x 49 x 83 cm and 4 kg, save a few centimetres per seat across a narrow row. Seat heights stay at 45-47.5 cm, matching a standard 73-76 cm table.
Design and comfort
- The Doga chair by Raffaello Galiotto has a slatted back and comes in 8 colours.
- The Net chair has a perforated seat that ventilates and drains.
- The Trill Bistrot is one of the lightest here at 3.8 kg, in 9 colours.
- For lounge corners, the Doga Relax has a lower 41.5 cm seat and still stacks.
Care in Cyprus sun and winter
Wash with water and mild detergent; solvents and abrasive pads dull the matt finish. Stack chairs dry and under cover for the rainy months to keep dirt out of the stacks.
