Villa Terrace Dining Under the Cyprus Sky

For villa terraces with space to spare, a long table anchors outdoor dining. Plan the terrace in zones

Most patio design ideas for a villa come down to three zones: a dining table near the kitchen door, a lounge corner for after dinner, and a spot for drinks. Place the dining zone first, because it needs the most space, then fit the lounge and bar where the evening breeze and the view are best. Keep a clear walkway of about a metre between zones, so guests and trays can pass.

Size the table to the guests

The Roma seats 8-10 at 280 × 100 cm. Its X-shaped stainless-steel base keeps the ends free, so a chair fits at each end too. At 75 cm high, it suits standard dining chairs. Shade that moves with the sun

• Low lighting along the edge of the terrace and lanterns on the table make dinners after dark easier than one bright wall light.
