Outdoor Umbrellas Cyprus

Cyprus shade has to handle midday sun and coastal gusts, so a parasol is only as good as its base. Centre pole or side pole

• Centre pole: the simplest and lightest. The Kalife umbrella is 3 m across with UV-resistant polyester, listed for domestic use, and suits a round garden table. The Pamela 2 m umbrella by Balliu has a 35 mm stainless steel pole and fiberglass ribs, a good size for a balcony.
• Side pole (cantilever): the pole stands beside the shaded area, so nothing blocks a dining table or a pair of sunbeds. Choosing the base

The base matters more than most people expect, especially near the sea.

• Wheeled bases for home: the Barry base comes in 35 kg and 50 kg; the 35 kg white version fits 35, 38 and 48 mm poles.
• Stone: a granite base with handle sits neatly on a patio.
• Ballast bases for large umbrellas: the Alina base (88 x 88 cm) is loaded with standard paving plates, which are not included.
• Made to order: the custom concrete base weighs 230 kg on heavy-duty wheels and is tailored to the umbrella.

Bigger canopies and open, windy sites need heavier bases. Whatever the base, close the umbrella in strong wind and when nobody is using it.

Size the shade to the space
